I'll dominate 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be streamed live on Netflix.
Briton Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.
Former twice unified boxing king Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive disparity - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Boxer's Mindset
"I will break his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my intention."
Respectful Interaction
Despite those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - typically known for his theatrics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a fight offer.
Targeting Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is superior to Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.
Jake Paul's History
Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.
He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Attraction
However, the novice is still one of boxing's biggest financial successes, frequently receiving massive paydays.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28 year old forecast a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would prevent the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.
Size Difference
As Joshua and Paul met for the usual confrontation, with their size difference evident, it drove home just how improbable this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is actually proceeding.
